8 Months Down

This week was amazing.. First I want to share a cool experience with you. As we went up to St. Lucy to help Jeff and his father with a some service of cutting down some trees while we were there we saw two men sanding down a truck. We ran over and asked if we could help. They were shocked as we started to help them. During the water sanding of his truck, us four Elders bore our testimony of the Book of Mormon and we laid out the Restoration of the Gospel. The spirit was strong with these two men, Fuzzy and Andre (their names) were genuinely interested. Come to find out they are both dads with kids and are both very prepared. This last week Fuzzy called me and asked if we would come up to share more and so that he could cook for us. We didn't want to turn that down so we went. We were able to go over the Plan of Salvation and have a wonderful meal. These two men were both there and were super nice and very interested in all that we shared. They asked when we could come back next and I was not sure because they are in the sisters area. I told them I would give them a call. The next day they called me and asked how we were and if we could come again. It was so cool!

So this week for conference I loved every breathing moment of it! I always feel so close to home as I watch conference and know that my family is doing the same thing as me. The hardest part of conference is not being able to go to priesthood session with dad and kobe. And eating moms cinnamon rolls.

A few things that I loved about conference -

One was first the talk by Elder Nelson about the power of the priesthood. I was moved by the power of that talk and will strive each and every day to be a better priesthood holder in these last and latter days.

Second during priesthood session as I listened to the talk by Stephen W Owen. I loved how we not all need to be the best leaders, but we must become the best followers as well. I loved the story of how he followed his dad up the dark mountie with flash light in hand on hunting trips being afraid. It made me think of you dad as a young boy I used to do the same thing. The memories will forever be in my heart.

Third I loved the talk about temples that Kent F Richards gave. I loved the promise of how when we spend our time most in temples we may have the opportunity to see angels and that is where we are closest to God. I dream of when  I can go in the temple once again.

And lastly, the Spirit that Elder Holland brings to the room when he speaks is the most amazing thing I have ever seen or experienced. He is the greatest speaker I have ever seen. I learned so much spiritually during his talk.

Other than that Tye is the same, He is teaching me a lot and I am learning great patience and humility. I strive to be better friends him each day. But wanna know something funny... I beat him in chess!!  he was so mad!! hahahah that was not a humble moment for me I was so happy!
