Almost 9 Months

Hey so this week was so great once again. My new comp is not here yet. Traveling and booking flights is crazy in the Caribbean. So this week I have been working with Elder Johnson, he is super awesome and is from cali. And Elder Hardy. He is from Lehi, played on the football team and loves to hunt. So We mesh like we we are brothers!!! it has been so fun all week. Also Elder Marae he is from Tahiti, he flew in this week and got put with me for a few days he is a funny guy. I am just loving every second of it with all these elders.
My comp should fly in to the island today so we will see what is up!:)

So this week was pretty chill. It was fun at church because I got to sustain some people I felt cool conducting. haha so something funny. I have been studying how elder eyring leads conference and in church i said: "after a signal from conducter we will be pleasured to hear from our Branch president and concluding speaker elder brady. haha everyone was laughing at me. I love to try to make the branch feel happy and smile well we are at church.

So this week we went up to St. Lucy for dinner and the two men Fuzzy bear and Andre fed us. We played a huge soccer match with all the kids up there. It was such a good time!
We also had the oppurtunity to build a house for a member it was super awesome!

Well thats it for me this week.
I am so blessed to be able to share the fulness of the gospel to all those I meet.
Hope all is well back home.

Good And Bad - The Last 2 Weeks

4/11/16 -
So first off I will start with the bad news.
My camera is totally broken and doesn't work anymore so I cant send home any pics. maybe you could send me a new camera?
Second my comp was flying down the road yesterday. We were riding down a hill. He totally crashed and fell on his face and shoulder. He broke his collar bone in half. so we spent all night at the doctor. After looking at x rays his collar bone is split completely in half. Half is sticking up into his neck and the other half is just resting low. it is crazy. He is going to a specialist today. He might have to be sent to the states for surgery.
GOOD NEWS>
I forgot to tell you last week but we are having a baptism this week. His name is Aldon Gooding. I found him like 3 months ago and have been teaching him. He is so cool. He owns his own conveyor belt shop. So we will be baptizing him Saturday at 10:)

Another good news is that I was able to give some priesthood blessings this week. I am working on having more power with the priesthood not only just hold the authority.
other than that things are going good here. Loving every second of the mission.

With love,
Elder Dixon.

4/18/16
Wow this week was the best week of my life! hands down. I have never felt the Spirit more, used the Priesthood so much, and have smiled all the steps of the way!

So first off Elder Tye got sent back to Georgia. It sucks for him. But we got transfer calls and I will stay in Black Rock for another transfer. I am getting a new comp his name is Elder Merrel. I guess he goes home in 3 months so he is an older Missionary. He is known through out the mission for being super funny and goofy. So I am super excited to serve with him.

Also Aldon was baptized on Saturday! I had the opportunity to perform the baptism. Wow the spirit was just so strong. After when we were bearing testimonies the spirit was just to the max. It was so strong that one of our cool girl investigators got up and bore her testimony how she can feel a tingling feeling through out here whole body and wants to be baptized as well! So amazing!

Saturday night was amazing too!  I cooked mac pie, bacon cheesy potatoes, and grilled chicken. I homemade all of it. I grilled it at a members and fed all the missionaries. IT was so freaking good. I made a homemade bbq sauce!

Sunday was the busiest day of my life. With elder Tye gone, Aldon asked me to perform all the ordinances for him...But on Sunday I also conducted the meeting, gave Aldon the Holy Ghost and Confirmed him a member of the church. The spirit was amazing. Words just like flowed I didn't even know what I was saying. SO AWESOME!
I then sang in the choir, then was the concluding speaker. I spoke on how we can make the sabbath day a delight! After I taught the lesson in Gospel Principals class. and then had the opportunity to give Aldon the Aaronic Priesthood  and ordain him to the office of a priest. words cant describe that experience! :)

Later that night I gave Ephraim a priesthood blessing! I have never used the priesthood more in my life. It was seriously so amazing!!! I am so so happy and so blessed to be a missionary.

The church is true and the book is blue!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Love,
Elder Dixon

8 Months Down

This week was amazing.. First I want to share a cool experience with you. As we went up to St. Lucy to help Jeff and his father with a some service of cutting down some trees while we were there we saw two men sanding down a truck. We ran over and asked if we could help. They were shocked as we started to help them. During the water sanding of his truck, us four Elders bore our testimony of the Book of Mormon and we laid out the Restoration of the Gospel. The spirit was strong with these two men, Fuzzy and Andre (their names) were genuinely interested. Come to find out they are both dads with kids and are both very prepared. This last week Fuzzy called me and asked if we would come up to share more and so that he could cook for us. We didn't want to turn that down so we went. We were able to go over the Plan of Salvation and have a wonderful meal. These two men were both there and were super nice and very interested in all that we shared. They asked when we could come back next and I was not sure because they are in the sisters area. I told them I would give them a call. The next day they called me and asked how we were and if we could come again. It was so cool!

So this week for conference I loved every breathing moment of it! I always feel so close to home as I watch conference and know that my family is doing the same thing as me. The hardest part of conference is not being able to go to priesthood session with dad and kobe. And eating moms cinnamon rolls.

A few things that I loved about conference -

One was first the talk by Elder Nelson about the power of the priesthood. I was moved by the power of that talk and will strive each and every day to be a better priesthood holder in these last and latter days.

Second during priesthood session as I listened to the talk by Stephen W Owen. I loved how we not all need to be the best leaders, but we must become the best followers as well. I loved the story of how he followed his dad up the dark mountie with flash light in hand on hunting trips being afraid. It made me think of you dad as a young boy I used to do the same thing. The memories will forever be in my heart.

Third I loved the talk about temples that Kent F Richards gave. I loved the promise of how when we spend our time most in temples we may have the opportunity to see angels and that is where we are closest to God. I dream of when  I can go in the temple once again.

And lastly, the Spirit that Elder Holland brings to the room when he speaks is the most amazing thing I have ever seen or experienced. He is the greatest speaker I have ever seen. I learned so much spiritually during his talk.

Other than that Tye is the same, He is teaching me a lot and I am learning great patience and humility. I strive to be better friends him each day. But wanna know something funny... I beat him in chess!!  he was so mad!! hahahah that was not a humble moment for me I was so happy!
