Barbados!!

Well, it is so good to hear from you guys. I am in a whole new country now and it is awesome here. Barbados is more like the states then any other island. When I hear some music or something that I used to hear back home I think why did I listen to that? That is horrible. The spirit is so cool how it changes our lives. I encourage you all to grow close to the spirit. Well, this morning we played rugby on the beach with some elders from Tonga and Tahiti. It started pouring rain. And it was seriously so fun!! My district leader is Elder Odhiambo. from Kenya. He was with me in St. Lucia. He is awesome and seriously one of my best friends.
Well, the first day in Barbados was rough. We did not know the area or anything and we felt lost haha. But no worries, worrying about stuff like that is a waist of time. Luckily we found the grocery store and we got some food for our apartment. When we left the store we didn't know which way to go to get back... so we just started walking. I was with my new comp and we were with Elder Odhiambo and his new comp as well. We spent the whole rest of the day trying to find our apartment. As soon as it got dark it started to rain more than I have ever seen in my whole life. It was pouring so much the roads flooded. We were walking in 6 inches of water, and we felt like we were in the shower. Luckily I was not wearing one of my good ties. At about 8 we found the apartment. It was such a fun day! My camera got way wet but is working fine today so that is a miracle.

This new area I am in is rough.  There are 3 Melchizedek  priesthood holders in the branch. President told me that our apartment was the worst one in the whole mission field. But it is fine. I like it. We have no AC. But I got 3 fans, so I am super happy and sleep super good. Barbados is super hot. I sweat so freaking much. Well, My new comp is named Elder Heufner. He is actually way cool. He is from Bear Lake Utah. He played basketball and football in high school. He likes to fish and duck hunt. So it was a perfect match for me. He is a real serious guy so I am trying to make him laugh and lighten up a little bit. Anyway the work is good, except I can't understand what anybody is saying.  The bajon accent is so hard to understand. It is like they jumble their sentences into one word and have like a London accent to it.
I had a real humbling experience going out to find people and the whole lesson me and my comp could not understand anything. It made us really rely on the spirit. I know that we will be able to understand it soon as we are obedient and work hard.

Well, that's about it for now. I love you all and hope everything is going well back home.
Love,
Elder Dixon
