1 YEAR!!! :)

This year flew by!  I want it back! I have loved every minute serving the Lord so far! And I am excited to see the miracles yet to come this next year!

Well this week was so great!! We were able to go to a members house and he had us kill three of his rabbits and Sister Brown made us some Rabbit Curry!! Yum! We had a feast. The Browns are so cool they are going to the Temple this week!! They have to catch 4 different flights to get to the Temple! I am so grateful for their sacrifice! They will love the Temple,  we have prepared them well!

Speaking of flights President Herrington the mission president told us this last year he has flown over 150 times so they cant fly for a while because there passports are too full of stamps! That is crazy!

Also Keith came to church!!! It was so great! He loves it! We set a baptismal date for Aug. 6 so he is super excited!! There will be a splash just now!

We helped do some service this week! Which was fun we fixed a farmers fence and built a new one so the sheep wouldn't get out!

Also Elder Clement finally will leave this week! Elder Marae and I are great! We are seeing so much success!

So here is a few pics. Today we hiked the volcano again so that is me and Odhiambo..

The one of the beach and the road shows you how close the road is to the beach. So basically though we can't go on the beach we are so close it is great! (side note - new mission rules say they can't even go down to the beach at all. Jake was kinda bummed about it because they are so close and use to go spend their p-days out on the beach)  The other pic is with Bro Brown killing some rabbits.

Women Can't Be Pastors?!

Yo Whagwon!!

So this week was hilarious! We got invited to The New Testament church! The pastor was a girl and she was like screaming and saying can I get an AMEN! We were jamming out too with a full on band and guitar and stuff, giving God enough praises! At the end she said we can all take and invention and talk to God! People started raising their hands.. some were "overtaken" by the Holy Ghost and started to shout and fall over!  Haha the woman was shouting and yelling scriptures at us. She aint no candidate for the Priesthood! It was a great time! Grateful that I belong to the true church though!

My new comp is cool! He is from Tahiti!! He is a great missionary and we are seeing lots of success!

We were able to get a guy to church!!!!!! So happy! his name is Keith! Keith had a stroke so he can't walk very good.. He walked over a mile to get to church. When he reached he was shaking but smiling to be there. The Lord really blessed us this week. Hopefully we can set a baptismal date this week with him.

Also one investigator named Sis Phillips is the nicest older lady. She has known the Church is true for many years now. But the only thing holding her back is she is not married and lives in the same house as her boyfriend. The problem is that they have lived together for over 50 years so she won't just get up and leave. They don't have any chastity problems either because there both old. But Ashby her boyfriend is so stubborn. He is like the type that if his TV breaks he throws it out the window before he repairs it. Many of times he has told the missionaries off. But we fasted a few weeks ago for them and he let us come teach him. The lesson was great and the Spirit was so strong! Fasting brings miracles! We hope to have more success with him in the future! We pray daily that the Lord will soften her partners heart so that she can be baptized!

Well thats about it for this week!
I love you all so much

Transfer Calls!

Hey yall whagwon!

Well I can't believe dad is going to Alaska with Kobe this week. That is so Cool! I hope they have an awesome trip. I remember the good times with dad up in Alaska.

Well I got your package and my favorite thing was that hump day book!! I love all those people in there and it made my whole week! Thanks so much! Also I love the all poly stuff so tell Junior I say thanks so much! I cant believe I am almost at a year!

Well the comps okay it is rough still.. But we got calls he is leaving to St. Marteen. I am staying down here in Georgetown, I am District Leader again. Which for me leadership positions are great but I honestly couldn't care if I was senior comp, district leader or zone leader! I just want to serve the lord with all my heart might mind and strength.

My new companion is Elder Marae. He is from Tahiti or Fiji I cant remember! I'm excited for it.

I got my St. Vincent license this week! I get to drive this cool little car that is the senior couples tell they get back. So this week driving was super fun. They drive on the left side of the road and the steering wheel is on the other side. woot woot.

We helped the Brown family get there Temple names ready and in the computer! They are going to the temple in a week or so. They are going to be sealed for time and all eternity! :) I am so so so excited for them. We got there whole family to come out teaching with us last night. And the spirit was so strong! I love when members come teaching with us!

This week I memorized matt 11:28-30
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden. and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest in your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light."

Well love ya all!!

Testimony and Carnival

Jake wrote this in a separate email to our Dad. What an awesome testimony he shares. We wanted to share it all with you -

So I absolutely love the sons of Mosiah and they give great motivation to serve the lord. They teach very important principles as well. I think conversion is a strong word. I feel everyone strives for conversion each and every day. I am not perfect, either were the sons of Mosiah. I entered the MTC still as a worldly man caught up in things of the world. Definitely not bad things, but things that take us away from serving the Lord. Right before I entered the MTC, all my time and efforts would go toward sports, friends, work, and girls. Any extra time would be going to church or hanging with the family. I was completely and totally turned around. The MTC hit me like a hurricane. I realized I was so far behind in my testimony and in my knowledge to the gospel. I realized it no longer matters how many points you score in a game. How many girls follow you on social media. The start of my mission I was trying to do "catch up". I was starting to do what the sons of Mosiah did in-

Chapter 17: End of 2 ,  "And they had waxed strong in the knowledge of the truth; for they were men of a sound understanding and they had searched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God."

I was trying to do this trying to know the word of God. But I feel a huge part of my conversion is started when I arrived in Barbados a few months into my mission. I had seen success but not like I had wanted to see. I was still worrying about how my hair looked or if I was hungry, or if I was tired. I was still caught up in myself. I even had to repent of some things, sad to say but I am far from perfect.

I compare this a lot to Peter, for he walked with the Savior and did great things but after the Savior left he went back fishing. He went back to his old ways. He didn't know better. We all know the story of these men out on the water that day. And I love the very end of John 21 where the Savior asked Peter the question 3 times of if he loved him. The rest of the story is history.

I truly believe my conversion came when I stopped thinking of myself. When I loved the lord with all my heart might mind and strength. If we all could do this we would all be great missionaries. If we could do as Peter, to leave or nets for a while and go out and open our mouths.

Trust me it is not any easier for us missionaries to open our mouths about the gospel then any member of the church. We all know the truth we all are members of the church. The only difference is I wear a badge and have been called to do it 24/7. But the Lord expects each member to be a missionary. I have realized the work we do is nothing with out members help. They know the people they know the area, there friends with these people. I compare it to a scope on a rifle, I have shared this before in district and zone meetings but it as if members are the elevation turret. they know these people, they live there. Missionaries are like the wind-age turret. The wind comes and goes, so do we. But we both need to work together to hit the target.

Now back to the sons of mosiah. In Chapter 17:3
3 But this is not all; they had given themselves to much prayer, and fasting; therefore they had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and when they taught, they taught with power and authority of God.

I am striving every day to be more converted. But for me I am most converted when I was begging on my knees for the Lords help. And fasting all day in the hot sun that we could find someone to teach and someone to except this beautiful message.

I know that the Sons of Mosiah had a hard time in the jungle they served for 14 years which is crazy to me. But they were great at what they did because they repented and changed and lived a life of service. As I strive to change my self and put others first that is when we see success as missionaries. And as we see success as missionaries our conversion grows. As I stand in a baptismal font with my hand to the square and to feel the love of the savior and for the person that is being baptized has changed me forever. It makes me want to do all I can to help these people.

I want you to look at this picture I look at. This is sister hope when we first taught her. And this is her after being baptized and receiving the holy ghost. This is amazing!

Before
After
Here is his email to the family -

This week was Carnival so we basically didn't do much just chilled inside. We were not allowed to teach we were stuck in the apartment. It was super chill. I bought a pig I named it Wilbur Bacon Jr. We kept it as a pet for a few days. Then we came back from church and it was gone. I was so sad.

But then I found it under the deck of our house playing in the mud. I was so happy! I think it stayed because I fed it hot dogs. Did you know Pigs LOVE hot dogs!!!

Since we couldn't leave the apartment We killed Wilbur Bacon Jr. and roasted it over the fire. It was pretty sweet.

Well thats about it for this week.
Love you guys!
