6 Months Down

We didn't get much of a letter this week but here are some highlights. -

 - Transfers were again this last week. Jake is staying in Barbados and with his current companion. He is super excited about staying in the same place because he likes the people and the area.

- There was a world wide broadcast for for missionaries this week. They haven't done this in a decade. They taught about how to teach repentance and baptize converts. It was amazing and the spirit was so strong. Going to apply some of that for this week.

- They also were able to do a cool service project this week. Jake said - We cut down and old house and made it into a house pin for some girls that are members in the ward and one of their friends. The pictures of that are below :)

Far from Breezin..

Wow sounds like things are rough for the Dixon clan..! lol Sounds like Hawaii is so fun!! Hope you guys enjoy the weather I feel every day! its great. well yeah true that it is hot wearing shirt and tie every where we go but I am used to it now. :)

Beautiful View from the Apartment

So I got your package it is so awesome I wear the sandals every day so comfy and cool. The members laugh at me because it is like against Caribbean law to wear socks and sandals haha.

Well I got Rance's christmas package today it was exciting to get.

This week was real rough the people here are tough. Most of the bajons know about missionaries and they are to lazy to read the book of mormon. So they get on there phones and look up stuff about the church. Most of what they look up are all off anti sites. And the questions they ask from those sites are rough. They are questions the spirit answers through prayer. So there was a lot of bashing this week.

More ward members visiting Bados

Transfer calls will be this week so I am excited to see what happens. I don't want to leave the Bados because I love the members so much. And they love me:) we have such a good time with them!  But we will see what happens.

Thanks for all the prayers it really helps I have really noticed a difference. And I pray for yall every day!

Happy Week

I am so grateful to be out here this week!!! Love the mission! So this week we got to do service for Sister Hope!! We cleaned her whole house. It literally looked like nobody lives there. She has nothing. There was like 5 inches of dust on the floor. Mold everywhere. And ratt poo and dead cockroaches all over. I knew this is a place the spirit cannot abide. So we deep cleaned it. These are a few pics of all that she has --

Her Bedroom

Her Closet

and bathroom

It was super sad but she is the nicest lady. I would do anything for her. After we were done helping her I bought her some lunch. I told her to smile for a picture and this is what I got -

Okay also this week we helped Dawn cook Sunday dinner. She is awesome. She is showing me some good stuff. Also I got your package with the pajamas for Ephriam. They are awesome. He loves them. The Hylands are very, very grateful. I was trying to get a pic of him in them but he was running around the house because he was happy we were there.

We gave him (Ephriam)  another Priesthood blessing this week. The blessing was directed for comfort and for him to be able to learn and grow and speak. Sister Hyland asked me to give him one. So as I did it was a struggle with him trying to take my hands off his head. :) It has never been so hard to keep hands on someone's head in my whole life. But we got it done with. This week miraculously Ephriam has been talking little sentences, and sister Hyland can't believe it. I can't either. The priesthood power is so awesome! Before we went to gave him the blessing we had prayed for a miracle. The Lord really does come through.

I know that we can do all things with the priesthood as long as we have faith. As Jesus said to the fresh apostles after receiving the priesthood,  "O ye of little faith."
Through faith we can do all things even move mountains.

Well other than that, I am not really jealous of you guys going to Hawaii. I am like living in Hawaii so I get the vibes. I am excited to see Jim this week.  I will count it as a member lesson. Or since I know jim I will count it as a "less active lesson" haha well I love you guys. Have a safe travel there.
also a new elder came to my district. He is from honduras. He says he knew bryson anderson. I cant wait to tell elder Anderson about that.

well thats about it for me. I love hearing from you guys and all the adventures. I love and miss ya But not really cuz I love it out here :)

Monkeys, Trees and Hope

Whagwon fam..
First off I love the pics
Kobe you and your friends look cute all matching ;) haha dude you look fly. So I hope your new years was great.
I spent mine on my balcony looking out at the sea watching people on the beach launch fireworks and cruise ships shoot off lots of fireworks too. The sight was so beautiful.

Kaits- my girl.. Wowza you look like a pro. Can't wait to board it up with you when I get back. Way to be! plus you look good doing it!:) Don't get too good at it; you will be better than me!

This week was super chill. I saw a bunch of monkeys, climbed trees and cut down some bread fruit for lunch!

This week we have been praying to find families to share the gospel to. And we were lead to a family. The dad, Molton, is so cool. He had a stroke so only like half his body works. And his wife June is so down to earth. She fed us cake and sprite the very first day we met here.
She is solid. She knows here bible well. But doesnt know anything about the Book of Mormon. But she wants to learn and seek for truth. So we taught them the restoration and plan this week. It went great! Looking forward to teaching them more next week.

Also so to answer that Light of Christ story mom was wondering about.

So as you know when we met Hope she was very nice. But you could tell something was missing. She is so lonely and would sit on her porch and hope people would talk to her. Ever since we found her, things started to change. We could see changes slowly happen as she would read the Book of Mormon and pray.
After she was baptized it looked as if she was glowing. She doesnt stop smiling now. When we go over to her house. She no longer waits on the porch. As she opens the door she always is smiling and says I was just reading the Book of Mormon and thinking of you guys.
We visit here almost every day. She is amazing.
She is always first to church and doesn't miss an activity. She has already referred us to everyone she knows. Cool story she referred us to a man that teaches here French. So we met this man this week. This man is a genius in religion. He is a theologists. And knows Hebrew he also teaches it. He knows everything about religion. But as we shared with him the book of mormon and all of our thoughts he sat in awe almost about all we had to say. We were able to help him answer questions about life after death and the kingdoms of glory. He couldn't believe all we knew at such a young age. We plan to meet with this man again soon.
And this is all because of hope and the light of christ she has. She is such a sweet spirit. And just glows everywhere she goes. She even gave here only book of Mormon to one of her friends. So we definitely were excited to give here more!

Well missionary work is incredible
Love you all
